• Account details: name, email, phone number, and password.
• Delivery information: address, region, and delivery instructions.
• Order details: items purchased, pre-order requests, and messages to sellers or support.
• Payment information: processed directly by our payment partner, Paystack. Rakoon does not store your full card or mobile money details.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: browser type, IP address, pages visited, and general location derived from your device or delivery address.
• Cookies and similar technologies, described in the section below.

• To create and manage your account, and process orders, pre-orders, and requests.
• To assign and coordinate delivery agents for collection and drop-off.
• To process payments and refunds through Paystack.
• To communicate with you about orders, delivery status, and support requests.
• To improve the Platform, including fixing bugs and understanding how features are used.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.

We share information only where it's needed to fulfil your order or run the Platform:

• Sellers — receive the order and delivery details necessary to prepare your item for pickup.
• Delivery agents — receive your delivery address and contact number to complete the handoff.
• Paystack — processes your payment directly; Rakoon does not see or store your full payment credentials.
• Service providers — infrastructure and hosting providers that help us run the Platform, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Rakoon, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect features like staying signed in or cart persistence.

We retain account and order information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account at any time, as described below.

Depending on applicable law, including Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent for optional communications, such as marketing messages.

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.

Some of our infrastructure providers may process or store data outside Ghana. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with this policy.

The Platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll take steps to delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
